Dr Kay H. Farmer - With a First-Class honours degree in Psychology (London Metropolitan University) and an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour (University of Edinburgh), Kay’s early work focused on enabling the implementation of law enforcement for illegally traded wildlife by supporting wildlife confiscation, and wildlife rehabilitation and reintroduction, in West and Central Africa.
Her PhD (University of Stirling) documented the challenging management, ecological and behavioural issues associated with chimpanzee reintroduction in the République du Congo, and she maintains an Honorary Research Fellow position at the University of Stirling. Kay then moved to Liberia focusing on policy, research, and capacity development aspects for environment and conservation management, establishing and managing UNEP’s first post-conflict country-level presence and programme in Africa.
More recently Kay has been working as a UK based consultant providing capacity development, management, M&E and research services for a range of international clients including environmental and conservation practitioners, and the donor community. Kay seeks sustainable solutions to environmental challenges, consistently delivering professional services with a capacity development lens.
